When you book with LugLess, we price based on the details entered upon booking. As long as those details don’t change, you should not expect additional charges. If you ship more than what was paid for or provide an incorrect address, you may receive an additional charge.
This page outlines all of the charges a carrier can collect after delivery. Additional charges can always be avoided by reviewing the details of your trip on the checkout page!
Shipment Summary Charges
If the carrier issues additional charges, you will always be notified via email and provided a breakdown of the charges. Carriers process adjustments following delivery, so the billing cycle can remain open for up to three weeks after you receive your items. Overage and/or correction charges are collected through LugLess, and billed to the card on file.

Size and Weight
When you book with LugLess, you’re getting the same labels you would from the carrier. Since all carriers price based on both weight and size, we must as well. To make this simple, we ship within categories; each with its own size and weight parameters. You can use our straightforward calculator to determine yours, or you can head here if you want to learn more about how size/weight works.
Carrier may charge for:
- Billable Weight Adjustment → per pound rate, usually $1-2 (for shipments that exceed their chosen size category)
- Large Package Charge → up to $170 per package (for shipments that reach 90+ billable lbs)
- Over Maximum Size or Maximum Weight surcharge → up to $2000 USD per package (for shipments that exceed even our largest label restrictions)
Keep in mind both the size and weight of your shipment can trigger an overage. Avoid overages by using our calculator to confirm your size category. If an overage is expected, the calculator will warn you!
Address
Tell us where you need your things, and we can probably get them there! LugLess ships within the US and within Canada, to both businesses and residences. If you prefer to collect your shipment, we can help find holding locations for you. As long as you have verified the address, provided it in full, and ensured everything is formatted correctly, you should expect no additional charges.
Carrier may charge for:
- Residential delivery fee → $9 USD per tracking number (for addresses that were entered as a company, but are residences)
- Address Correction after item shipped → $30 USD per tracking number (for invalid or incomplete addresses, causing a failed delivery attempt and subsequent correction)
- Delivery Change after item shipped → $25 USD per tracking number + Transit charges (for addresses that were changed before a delivery attempt)
- Return to sender → $25 USD per tracking number + Transit charges (for shipments that are requested to be returned to the origin address)
Keep in mind our system can suggest addresses based on what’s entered, but LugLess never chooses the address for the user. If you are selecting something from the drop-down, always make sure you have selected it properly!
Dates
LugLess guarantees deliveries on or before the date selected during booking. Changing a shipment’s delivery date once it’s in transit will incur additional charges. If you want to delay delivery, but avoid fees, consider having your shipment held for pickup.
Carrier may charge for:
- Future delivery date hold → $25 USD per tracking number (for deliveries that were rescheduled for a later date)
FAQ
How are charges collected? All charges are collected upon booking, or within your account. If you’re making changes to a trip, any update in pricing will be shown and then require confirmation.
Can I pay when I drop-off? You must pay for your trip upon booking online; payment cannot be made in person when dropping off.
I filed a claim, can I receive the funds directly? The outlined payment methods reflect the only options to receive your payout. LugLess cannot issue a payment directly to a card or bank account.
