Unless you're shipping to a business or the home of someone you know, we strongly recommend our Hold for Pickup option. This works especially well for the likes of Airbnb. Here is how the hold for pickup works:
- Enter your Final Destination Address
You will be shown convenient holding locations near this address. - Select "Hold for Pickup?"
After you choose your support plan, we will have you verify your address. Choose "Hold for pickup?" on this screen.
- Choose your Hold Point
We will provide you with a list of nearby hold points; you should select the one that works best for you! - Contact your Hold Point
We recommend contacting the staff at your hold point to inquire about hours, procedures, and fees. If you’re shipping directly to a carrier center, you should not expect fees upon pickup.
How to collect your delivery
When you arrive at your destination, you will go to the hold point you selected to pick up your delivery. Be sure to bring a photo ID that matches the name on your shipping label, as it is required to collect your shipment. Locations can hold shipments for up to 5 business days after delivery. Failure to collect your items in time may result in them being returned to sender.
Pro tip: Holding locations inside hotels, convention centers, or business centers may charge an additional handling fee. We recommend avoiding these by choosing another nearby location.
FAQs
Can I put in this request after my packages are shipped? Yes, you can reach out to the carrier directly to request your shipment be held for pickup; they will assist with choosing a convenient location. You can confirm the status of your request on the tracking page (this may take up to 24 hours to reflect).
Can I change the name of the person who is supposed to pick up my package? The person collecting your shipment must present ID and their name must match the recipient. To change the recipient, you’ll contact the carrier directly.
Can the hold be extended beyond 5 business days? LugLess does not have the ability to extend holding times. If you are unable to collect your shipment in time, we recommend reaching out to that specific location to confirm any available options. Shipments not collected on time will be returned to the origin address.
Why am I being charged to pick up my packages? While having your shipment held for pickup is a free service, some locations within convention centers or hotels may charge an additional handling fee. As LugLess cannot clear these fees, we recommend searching for alternative locations to avoid them.
